The Pat & Aaron Show Commercial Free: 1/31/23

The Pat & Aaron Show begins by discussing Mayor Ken Welch's decision to approve the Tampa Bay Rays development plan for Tropicana Field. Pat & Aaron like that it's looking good for the Rays to not leave Tampa Bay, but would rather have it on the Tampa side of the bridge. The guys play some audio with Brian Auld from Ronnie & TKRAS with the latest updates on the Tampa Bay Rays, and then the hour ends with Today's Top Headlines.

The 7:00 AM hour talk about the Tampa Bay Rays staying in the bay area, and the chances it could be in Tampa. Pat wonders if Mayor Jane Castor is possibly not as interested in the baseball team, but Aaron thinks it's just a political move. Then the guys react to a text message saying it's hypocritical to have this discussion since IHeartRadio is moving to the Pinellas County side, and Pat Donovan gives his opinion on that.

Then Ken Hagan says that he was not surprised by the Rays redevelopment deal, and that this is a good thing for the team and the area. Pat asks him if this makes Tampa more aggressive, and Ken Hagan says he doesn't blame him and others for thinking that Tampa isn't being aggressive. He says that the Tampa Bay Rays know that they need to be in Tampa, and that they are waiting for all the info from the Pinellas side to come through. He says they won't be able to go into a bidding war with St. Petersburg, and that Major League Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rays know that. He goes on to say that it would be a huge black eye on the area if they were to lose the team.

The 8:00 AM hour begins with Situation Men as executive producer Ryan Hoppe reads off this week's questions. Some examples include "If You Could Live In Any Era" and "If You Could Be A Lead Singer Of Any Band." Then the guys take calls from listeners who weigh in on their opinion of the Tampa Bay Rays. Then Ryan Hoppe reads off the latest headlines you might have missed with "The Blender"
