Especially on a national platform like ESPN during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game with the two best teams in college football battling to find out who will be crowned champion. Sometimes people find themselves calling their shot, and then jinxing the players involved. That's why you don't hear the term 'no hitter' during a baseball game, or 'hat trick' when a hockey player scores two early. That's why many NFL players used to refuse to be on the cover of Madden, jinxes are real.
That's what ESPN college football analyst and announcer Kirk Herbstreit found out last night when he noticed that Alabama QB Mac Jones simply wasn't getting any pressure in his face throughout the early part of the contest. Now.... did this have a major impact in the game? No. But still worth a laugh
