While the world continues to gently mock the NBA Emirates Cup title that the Knicks earned last night in Las Vegas, DP is focused on the Spurs and what this experience will mean for their development into a squad that can do some real damage in the NBA Playoffs.
Dan Patrick: “This is what will be lost on people I think, and that is focusing on the Spurs because they need to play in meaningful games…They might be ahead of schedule here, and that’s what I was taking away from this game. You’re playing for something. You’re playing for a Cup but you’re playing for money as well, for, you know, the guys on your team that don’t make a lot of money, and that can be impactful. The spotlight a little brighter there and maybe the Spurs pick up some much-needed experience that can help them down the road.”
