The Bucs suffered their most lopsided defeat of the season on Sunday, falling 35-7 to the 49ers. In a flat-out embarrassing display of football, there weren’t too many things to be impressed by. Play calling and execution were again major reasons the Bucs lost, but penalties played a significant part in wiping out big plays on both sides of the ball.
To add injury to insult, several Bucs players suffered injuries that would see them ruled out for parts of the game, including Jamel Dean, Vita Vea and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Nonetheless, here are the Bucs’ most impressive players from Sunday’s loss:
Anthony Nelson
Nelson was one of the lone bright spots in Tampa Bay’s awful loss to the ‘Niners. He came up with several big stops in the run game to go with a forced fumble. He also had an interception that was negated by a weak defensive holding call on Carlton Davis.
