The Tampa Bay Rays (7-8) defeated the Atlanta Braves (4-11) 8-3 on Sunday afternoon at Steinbrenner Field to win the three-game interleague series.
The Rays got a first inning homer from Yandy Diaz and a sixth inning blast from Junior Caminero to key the win. Joe Boyle (1-0, 0.00) made his Rays debut in a spot start and pitched five innings in which he allowed just two unearned runs without allowing a hit. He struck out seven and walked two to get the win.
The Rays next host the Boston Red Sox for a three-game series beginning on Monday night. First pitch Monday is scheduled for 7:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
