The Tampa Bay Rays (77-78) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (73-82) 3-2 on Saturday evening at Tropicana Field. The win marks three wins in a row for Tampa Bay, who have now won the series against Blue Jays.
The Rays built a 3-0 lead thanks to a RBI single from Ben Rortvedt in the second and a two-run homer from Jonathan Aranda in the third. Though the Blue Jays got runs in the fifth and seventh, Tampa Bay was able to hang on for a 3-2 win.
Taj Bradley (7-11, 4.30) got the start and allowed jut one earned run on six hits in five innings of work while striking out four and walking two. Drew Rasmussen earned his first save as a Ray by working the final two innings of the game.
The Rays will now try to sweep the three-game series against their divisional rival coming up on Sunday afternoon. First pitch Sunday is scheduled for 1:40 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 1:00 PM on 620 WDAE.
