The Tampa Bay Rays (74-77) defeated the Boston Red Sox (75-76) 8-3 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. After dropping their last two games in Cleveland, the Rays opened their final homestand of the season with an impressive win.
After falling behind 2-0, the Rays rallied to tie the game 2-2. The Rays put together one of their best offensive innings in the fifth inning with three home runs to take a 5-2 lead. Jose Siri hit a bases-clearing double in the eighth to make it 8-3 and give Tampa Bay some much needed insurance.
