The Cleveland Guardians (86-64) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (73-77) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon to earn a split in the four-game series.
The Guardians got a RBI single from Brayan Rocchio in the second inning to take an early lead. Angel Martines completed a successful steal of home in the fifth and that would be enough for the Guardians as the Rays were unable to get anything going on offense.
The Rays are now off on Monday and return home the final homestand of the 2024 season beginning on Tuesday. They will play the Boston Red Sox for a three-game series beginning on Tuesday night. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 6:50 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
