Orioles Take Opener From Rays

The Baltimore Orioles (82-60) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (69-72) 2-0 on Friday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore.

The Rays were held without a hit until Junior Caminero led off the seventh inning with a single. Baltimore got their first run in the fifth when Jackson Holliday drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, before Gunner Hnenderson added a solo homer in the sixth inning to make it 2-0.

The Rays and Orioles meet in the second game of the three-game series coming up on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Pepiot (7-6, 3.76) is scheduled to start for the Rays, and face former Ray Zach Eflin (10-7, 3.60) for Baltimore.
