Twins Take Opener From Rays

The Minnesota Twins (75-62) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (67-70) 5-4 on Monday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays have now lost three of the first four games they've played on this seven-game, two-team homestand.

The Twins got one in the first, but Dylan Carlson hit a two-run single in the bottom of the frame to give the Rays a 2-1 lead. Trevor Larnach hit a three-run homer in the second to give Minnesota the lead, and they never looked back en route to a 5-4 win.

The Rays will look to bounce back and even the four-game series coming up on Tuesday night. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 6:50 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
