The San Diego Padres (77-60) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (66-68) 13-5 on Friday night at Tropicana Field.
The Padres got to Rays starter Taj Bradley (6-9, 4.35) early, getting eight earned runs off him on eight hits in the first three innings. Taj was only able to get one out of the third inning before he was lifted. The Padres added two runs in the fourth and three in the ninth to turn the game into a blowout.
The Rays will look to even the three-game series against the Padres coming up on Saturday afternoon. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 4:10 PM at Tropicana Field - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 3:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
