The Seattle Mariners (68-66) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (66-67) 6-2 on Wednesday afternoon in Seattle. The Rays finished their ten-game West Coast trip with a 4-6 record.
Josh Lowe scored first for the Rays with a solo homer in the second inning. The Mariners answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the second inning before erupting with a four-run fifth inning to take control of the game. Dylan Carlson's RBI single in the sixth was the only run the Rays got on the night.
The Rays now return to Tampa Bay after the long West Coast trip and will begin a three-game series against the Padres beginning on Friday. First pitch Friday night is scheduled for 6:50 PM - pregame coverage begins with the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
