Rays Take Second Straight From Athletics

The Tampa Bay Rays (64-62) defeated the Oakland As (54-73) 4-2 on Wednesday night in Oakland. For the second straight night, it was Jose Siri coming through with the game-winning homer.

After Oakland took an early 1-0 lead, the Rays took a 2-1 lead in the fifth thanks to a RBI groundout from Jonny DeLuca and a RBI double from Yandy Diaz. The As tied the game 2-2 before Jose Siri came through in the seventh inning with a two-run bomb that would prove to be the difference in this game.

Ryan Pepiot (7-5, 3.65) got the start and allowed two earned runs on three hits in six innings of work in which eh struck out five and walked one. Manuel Rodriguez earned his first save of the season working the ninth inning.

The Rays now have a chance to win the four-game series when they meet the As in the series finale on Thursday afternoon. First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 3:37 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 2:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
