Rays Even Series With Athletics

The Tampa Bay Rays (63-62) defeated the Oakland As (54-72) 1-0 late Tuesday night in Oakland to even the four-game series at a game apiece.

Shane Baz (1-2, 3.48) was brilliant in earning his first win in two years, pitching seven and two-third shutout innings in which he allowed three hits while striking out four and walking three. Edwin Uceta pitched the final four outs, earning his first MLB save.

The Rays got the only offense they would need with two outs in the eighth inning when Jose Siri blasted a solo home run that would make the game 1-0.

The Rays and As will now meet in the third game of the four-game series on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 9:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 8:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
