The Baltimore Orioles (70-48) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (58-58) 7-5 on Saturday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays are back to .500 on the season with the loss.
The Orioles got three in the first and one in the second to build a 4-0 lead. The Rays were able to rally with three runs in the fifth inning, thanks in part to RBI doubles from Alex Jackson and Jonny DeLuca. In the seventh Jose Caballero hit a solo homer to tie the game 4-4.
The Orioles answered with three in the eighth, led by a two-run blast from Ramon Urias. The Rays pulled within 7-5 in the eighth, but that was as close as the Rays would get.
The Rays now look to avoid being swept when they meet the Orioles in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch on Sunday is scheduled for 1:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Chris Adams-Wall hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
