Josh Lowe Leads Rays Past Astros To Even Series

The Tampa Bay Rays (56-54) defeated the Houston Astros (57-53) 6-1 on Saturday night in Houston. Josh Lowe hit two homers while going 4-for-5 to lead the way for Tampa Bay.

Houston got just one run off Rays starter Zack Littell (5-7, 4.06) - that came in the second inning when Jon Singleton hit a solo home run that gave the Astros a 1-0 lead. That would be the only offense for Houston on the night.

The Rays took the lead back in the fifth inning when Josh Lowe hit a two-run homer to make it 2-1. Yandy Diaz hit a solo homer in the seventh - moments before Josh Lowe did the same with his second homer of the night - to make it 4-1. The Rays got some insurance in the ninth when Brandon Lowe hit a two-run double to make it 6-1, which would be the final score.

The Rays will now try to win the three game series when they meet the Astros in the rubber game coming up on Sunday afternoon. First pitch from Minute Maid Park in Houston is scheduled for 2:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Chris Adams-Wall hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at 12:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
