Royals Even Series With Rays

The Kansas City Royals (48-40) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (43-43) 4-2 on Wednesday night in Kansas City. The Rays are back to .500 with the series finale coming up on Thursday night.

After Isaac Paredes homered to start things for the Rays, Kansas City answered with two in the third to take the lead. Salvador Perez hit a two-run single in the seventh to provide some separation, giving Kansas City a 4-1 lead. Amed Rosaraio hit a RBI double to pull within 4-2 in the eighth inning, but that was as close as the Rays would get.

The Rays and Royals now prepare to meet in the rubber game of the three game series on Thursday night. First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 8:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 7:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
