The Tampa Bay Rays (43-42) beat the Kansas City Royals (47-40) 5-1 on Tuesday night in Kansas City. The Rays are now back above .500 for the first time since May 20.
The game had a rain delay after five innings that lasted two hours and thirty-two minutes - at the time of the delay, the Rays led the game 1-0. After the delay, both teams traded runs in the sixth - then in the seventh the Rays scored two and added another in the ninth to pull away.
Zack Littell (3-5, 3.94) picked up the win after throwing five shutout innings before being pulled by the delay - he allowed four hits while striking out four and walking none.
