Rays Even Series With Twins In Extras

The Tampa Bay Rays (35-39) defeated the Minnesota Twins (41-33) 3-2 on Wednesday night in Minneapolis. The win evens the three game series at one game apiece.

Isaac Paredes homered in the third inning to give the Rays an early 1-0 lead. Minnesota answered with a run in the third and in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. The Rays were able to tie the game 2-2 thanks to an infield RBI hit from Yandy Diaz to tie the game 2-2, which would be the score through nine innings.

In the tenth inning the Rays were able to get a run when Johnny DeLuca reached on a throwing error from third baseman Royce Lewis that allowed Randy Arozarena to score. Then in the bottom of the frame Phil Maton made quick work of the Twins, retiring all three batters he faced without allowing the lead runner to advance past second base.

The Rays now try to win the Twins when the two teams meet in the rubber game on Thursday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
