The Atlanta Braves (37-30) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (33-37) 7-3 on Friday night in Atlanta to take the series opener of the interleague series in Atlanta.
The Braves got to Rays starter Zack Littell (2-5, 4.24) for seven runs - six of them earned - on eight hits in just two innings. That would prove to be more than enough against the Rays, who had taken a 1-0 lead in the first before adding single runs in the seventh and ninth.
The Rays look to bounce back and even the series when they meet in the middle game of the three-game series on Saturday afternoon. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 4:10 PM - pregame coverage begins at 3:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
