The Baltimore Orioles (37-19) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (28-31) 9-5 on Saturday afternoon at Camden Yards in Baltimore. The Orioles have now won the series with the finale coming up on Sunday afternoon.
This game was a back and forth game early. After Baltimore scored three in the bottom of the first, the Rays answered with three in the top of the second to tie the game 3-3. Baltimore took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the second before the Rays answered with two in the top of the third to take a 5-4 lead.
From there, Baltimore was able to take over, getting three runs in the third and two in the fourth to take a 9-5 advantage. All told Rays starter Taj Bradley (1-3, 5.81) had a rough night, allowing nine earned runs on nine hits in three and one-third innings of work while striking out three and walking three.
The Rays now look to avoid being swept in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch on Sunday is scheduled for 1:35 PM - pregame coverage begins with Chris Adams-Wall hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
