Rays Beat As To Even Series

The Tampa Bay Rays (29-29) defeated the Oakland As (23-34) 4-3 on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays have evened the three-game series at a game apiece with the series finale coming up on Thursday afternoon.

Both teams traded runs in the fourth and sixth to tie the game 2-2. After the Rays took a 3-2 lead in the seventh, Oakland tied it in the eighth, and 3-3 would be the score going into the ninth inning.

Jose Siri was the star of the show in the ninth inning. In the top of the ninth he took a two-run homer away from Zack Gelof with a tremendous catch. Then in the bottom of the frame he came through with a walk-off single to lift the Rays to a 4-3 win.

The Rays now look to win the series in the rubber game on Thursday afternoon. First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 1:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
