The Oakland As (23-33) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (26-29) 3-0 on Tuesday evening at Tropicana Field. The Rays have now lost six of their first seven games in this nine-game homestand in St. Petersburg.

The Rays offense managed just three hits on the night. Mitch Spence (4-2, 3.52) started the game for Oakland and allowed just one hit - and not until the sixth inning. He finished with five and one-third innings of shutout baseball and struck out four while walking one.

Zack Littell (2-3, 3.03) was good for the Rays, allowing just one mistake - a three-run homer in the sixth inning to Miguel Andujar. Those runs were all unearned, and he finished with seven innings of work allowing just the three unearned run while striking out nine and walking one.

The Rays look to even the series against the Athletics in the middle game of the three-game series on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 6:50 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
