Rays Fall To Red Sox For Second Straight Loss

The Boston Red Sox (24-24) shut out the Tampa Bay Rays (25-24) 5-0 on Monday night at Tropicana Field. For the Rays, it was their second straight loss, and the offense struggled in both games.

Tanner Houck (4-5, 1.94) was brilliant for the Red Sox, pitching seven shutout innings in which he allowed just two hits while striking out five and walking one.

Taj Bradley (1-2, 4.00) was dominant through three innings before the Red Sox were able to tag him for three in the fourth and two in the fifth. He finished the game pitching seven innings in which he allowed five earned runs on six hits while striking out ten and walking none.

The Rays will look to even the three game series with the Red Sox with the middle game coming up on Tuesday night. Zack Littell (2-2, 3.44) is scheduled to start for the Rays, opposed by Cooper Criswell (2-1, 2.76) for Boston.
