The Tampa Bay Rays (11-9) defeated the Los Angeles Angels (9-10) 2-1 on Thursday afternoon at Tropicana Field. The win gives the Rays a sweep of a four-game series with the Angels.
The Rays got a RBI triple from Amed Rosario before Harold Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 in the first inning. Ryan Pepiot (2-2, 4.37) allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out seven and walking three. Colin Poche worked a scoreless ninth for his second save of the year.
The Rays now head to New York for a three-game series against the Yankees beginning on Friday night. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 7:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
