Rays Take Series From Angels

The Tampa Bay Rays (7-6) defeated the Los Angeles Angels (6-6) 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon in Anaheim. The win gives the Rays their second straight series victory after taking two of three from the Angels and winning four of six on the road trip.

The Rays scored three in the first inning, thanks in part to two runs scoring on a wild pitch. Jose Caballero hit his first home run of the season in the second to make it 4-0.

Zack Littell got the start and allowed one earned run on six hits while striking out four and walking three in four and one-third innings of work. Kevin Kelly (1-0, 5.40) got the win out of the bullpen, while Pete Fairbanks struck out three in a scoreless ninth to earn his second save of the season.

The Rays return home for a seven-game homestand which begins with a three-game series against the Giants on Friday. First pitch from Tropicana Field is scheduled for 6:50 PM between the Rays and Giants - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
