Rays Blank Red Sox To Sweep Series

The Tampa Bay Rays (97-62) shut out the Boston Red Sox (76-82) 5-0 on Wednesday night to sweep a short two-game series at Fenway Park.

Tyler Glasnow (10-7, 3.53) pithed five shutout innings in which he allowed just two hits while striking out nine and walking one to pick up the win.

Josh Lowe hit a solo shot in the second inning, and the Rays added two more in the fourth thanks to RBIs from Harold Ramirez and Manuel Margot. Isaac Paredes hit a two-run bomb in the sixth to put this game out of reach.

The Rays are now off on Thursday before traveling to Toronto to play the Blue Jays in the final series of the regular season. The series between Toronto and Tampa Bay begins at 7:07 PM on Friday night - Ronnie & T-Kras begin pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
