The Tampa Bay Rays (95-61) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (86-69) 7-6 on Saturday afternoon at Tropicana Field.
The Rays built a 4-0 lead in the first inning. After Yandy Diaz hit a homer to lead off the game, Josh Lowe hit a three-run blast to give Tampa Bay a big lead early. The Rays added another in the fourth to make it 5-0.
The Blue Jays began to come back with four runs in the sixth inning to pull within 5-4. Then in the eighth the Jays capitalized on a rough night from reliver Pete Fairbanks - he allowed the tying run to score on a wild pitch before allowing a bases loaded walk that gave Toronto a 6-5 lead.
The Rays came back in the bottom of the ninth inning. Moments after Curtis Mead tied the game with a RBI single, Josh Lowe delivered the walk-off single that gave the Rays the win.
