Blue Jays Beat Rays In Opener

The Toronto Blue Jays (86-68) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (94-61) 6-2 on Friday night at Tropicana Field.

Randy Arozerena drove in a run in the first to give the Rays an early 1-0 lead, but Toronto turned the game around with four runs off Tyler Glasnow in the sixth inning. Glasnow finished the game allowing four earned runs on just three hits in five and one-third innings in which he struck out seven and walked four.

It was a painful game for the Rays, who saw Randy Arozarena leave the game with right quad tightness. Reliever Jason Adam, making his first appearance since an oblique strain, also had to be pulled with another injury.

The Rays and Blue Jays meet in the second game of the three game series on Saturday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM on Saturday - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage with This Week In Rays Baseball at 2:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
