Angels Even Series With Rays

The Los Angeles Angels (69-83) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (93-60) 8-3 on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays remained 2.5 games behind the Orioles (95-57) in the AL East race.

The Angels scored six runs in the first two innings off Aaron Civale (7-4, 3.43), who threw 74 pitches in just three innings of work.

The Rays offense came from a RBI single from Isaac Paredes in the third that made pulled made it 6-1, and a two-run double from Yandy Diaz in the sixth that pulled the Rays within 8-3, which would be the final score.

Tampa Bay will now try to win the series when the two teams meet in the series finale on Thursday afternoon.
