Twins Even Series With Rays

The Minnesota Twins (76-69) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (89-57) 3-2 on Tuesday night to tie the series at a game apiece in Minneapolis.

Trailing 1-0 because of a third inning homer from Edouard Julien, the Rays tied the game in the fourth thanks to a Josh Lowe RBI single. Rene Pinto hit a solo homer in the fifth to give the Rays a 2-1 lead.

That would remain the score in the seventh inning, when Willi Castro hit a two-run homer that would prove to be the difference.

Zack Littell (3-6, 4.25) allowed only one run through six innings, but allowed Castor's homer in the seventh so took the loss.

The Rays and Twins meet in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 1:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with the WDAE's Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
