Rays Score Three In Ninth To Walk Off Guardians Again

The Tampa Bay Rays (71-48) beat the Cleveland Guardians (56-62) 6-5 on Saturday evening at Tropicana Field. It was the second game in a row in which the Rays walked off with a win.

The Rays trailed Cleveland 5-2 going into the bottom of the eighth inning. Tampa Bay got a single run in the eighth and three in the ninth to walk off with a 6-5 win.

After Brandon Lowe tied the game with a RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, it was Randy Arozarena coming through as the hero. With two outs, he came through with the walk-off RBI single that gave the Rays the win.

Tampa Bay will now look to sweep Cleveland in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. Righthander Zach Eflin (12-6, 3.34) will start for the Rays, and is expected to be opposed by righthander Tanner Bibee (8-2, 2.92) for Cleveland. First pitch is scheduled for 1:40 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage with This Week In Rays Baseball at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
