Cardinals Take Middle Game From Rays

The St. Louis Cardinals (50-65) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (69-47) 6-4 on Wednesday nigh at Tropicana Field.

Jose Siri hit a two-run homer in the second inning to give the home team a 2-1 lead, but the Cardinals got to the Rays pitching staff on a bullpen day for six runs. The Rays used six pitchers in the loss.

Wander Franco led the way with three hits, while Jose Siri hit two home runs and drove in three on the game.

The Rays will now look to win the series with the Cardinals on Thursday evening. Zack Littell (2-2, 4.04) is scheduled to start for the Rays, while Matthew Liberatore (1-4, 6.93) is scheduled to get the ball first for St. Louis.
