Rangers Beat Rays Again

The Texas Rangers (57-39) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (60-38) 5-3 on Tuesday evening at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The Rangers built a 2-0 lead thanks to a solo homer from Marcus Semien in the third and a RBI double from Travis Jankowski in the sixth. In the seventh inning, Francisco Mejia drove in a run in the top of the frame to pull the Rays within 2-1.

The Rangers had a big answer, getting a three-run homer from Corey Seager in the bottom of the seventh to put the game away. Randy Arozarena and Brandon Lowe both homered in the eighth, but 5-3 would be as close as the Rays would get.

Taj Bradley (5-6, 5.29) took the loss after allowing two earned runs on five hits in five innings of work while striking out nine and walking two.

The Rays and Rangers now wrap up their three game series on Wednesday afternoon, which will be the final game of the road trip for Tampa Bay. First pitch on Wednesday is scheduled for 2:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher and Zac Blobner hosting the Inside Pitch at 1:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
