Rays Bounce Back With Win Over Oakland

The Tampa Bay Rays (49-22) defeated the Oakland As (19-51) 6-3 on Wednesday night in Oakland. The win snaps a short two-game losing streak for the Rays - who have yet to lose three consecutive this season.

Oakland built a 3-1 lead in the second thanks to a three-run homer from JJ Belday, but the Rays had an answer. Tampa Bay came through with three runs in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead, before adding runs in the seventh and ninth to secure the win.

Tyler Glasnow (2-0, 3.43) got the start and allowed three earned runs on six hits in five and one-third innings of work while striking out six and walking four. Jason Adam earned his eleventh save with a scoreless ninth inning.

After dropping the first two games of the series, the Rays will look to salvage a split in the series on Thursday afternoon. Rookie Taj Bradley is expected to start for Tampa Bay on Thursday, with a first pitch scheduled for 3:37 PM. Jay Recher begins pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 2:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
