The Oakland Athletics (19-50) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (48-22) 2-1 on Tuesday night in Oakland. The win gives the As seven consecutive wins.
Manuel Margot gave the Rays a 1-0 lead with a RBI single in the fifth, but Brent Rooker tied the game for the As with a RBI double in the bottom of the seventh. In the eighth inning the As were able to manufacture a run - after Ramon Laureano doubled and stole third, Carlos Perez got him in on a groundout to give Oakland the winning run.
