Blue Jays Even Series With Historic Offensive Outburst

The Toronto Blue Jays (26-23) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (35-15) 20-1 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field.

Taj Bradley (3-1, 4.44) had a rough start for Tampa Bay, allowing four earned runs on nine hits in four innings of work. Toronto then exploded for six runs in the fifth inning to build a 10-0 lead.

The Rays only run came on a solo home run from Isaac Paredes in the bottom of the fifth to make it 10-1.

Trailing 10-1, the Rays elected to have position players Luke Raley and Christian Bethancourt pitch the final two innings. The two combined to give up ten runs, including Raley allowing a grand slam to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The Rays look to bounce back in the third game of the four game series on Wednesday night. Rays ace Shane McClanahan (7-0, 2.05) is expected to start for the Rays, and face lefthander Yusei Kikuchi (5-1, 4.08) for Toronto. First pitch from Tropicana Field is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie & T-Kras hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
