Brewers Salvage Finale From Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers (25-21) avoided being swept by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays (34-14) 6-4 on Sunday afternoon at Tropicana Field.

Former Rays shortstop Willy Adames hit a solo homer in the second inning to give Milwaukee an early 1-0 lead. After the Brewers made it 3-0 in the fourth, Josh Lowe hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 3-3.

Milwaukee answered quickly with a two-run homer from William Contreras in the top of the fifth to give the visitors the lead right back at 5-3. Brian Anderson added a RBI single later in the inning to give Milwaukee a 6-3 lead, which would prove to be the final score.

Jalen Beeks allowed one earned run on hit hit in two innings as the opener. Cooper Criswell (0-1, 7.94) allowed five earned runs in four and two-thirds innings as the bulk guy, taking the loss.
