Mets Win Series From Rays

The New York Mets (22-23) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (32-13) 3-2 on Thursday afternoon to win the three game series from Tampa Bay.

Taj Bradley made his return to the big leagues and was solid for the Rays, allowing two earned runs on three hits in five innings of work while striking out four and walking two. Zack Littell (0-1, 7.20) took the loss out of the bullpen, allowing Tommy Pham's RBI infield single that would prove to be the difference in the game.

Harold Ramirez drove in a run on a forceout in the first, and Josh Lowe hit a solo homer in the sixth, to account for the Rays offense.

The Rays finished their longest road trip of the season with a 4-6 record before returning home. They will play the Brewers in a three game series beginning on Friday night. First pitch Friday night is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie & T-Kras hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
