Orioles Win Series Over Rays

The Baltimore Orioles (24-13) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (29-9) 2-1 on Wednesday evening at Camden Yards. The win gives Baltimore the series victory in the three game series between AL East rivals.

Baltimore got two runs in the sixth, thanks to Adam Frazier grounding into a RBI force out, before Austin Hays hit a RBI single. Wander Franco drove in a run in the eighth to make it 2-1, but that would be all the offense in this game.

Jalen Beeks got the start as the opener, and allowed just one hit in two shutout innings to begin the game. Yonny Chirinos (1-1, 2.22) allowed two earned runs on five hits in his five innings of bulk work, striking one and walking four. Dean Kremer (4-1, 4.97) pitched six shutout innings for Baltimore to earn the win, allowing four hits while striking out fur and walking two.

The Rays now head to New York for the next week where they will play four games against the Yankees before playing three against the Mets. Drew Rasmussen is expected to get the start in the first game against the Yankees, while Domingo German is the scheduled starter for New York. The first game comes up Thursday night at 7:10 PM at Yankee Stadium - Ronnie & T-Kras begin pregame coverage at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
