Orioles Even Series With Rays

The Baltimore Orioles (23-13) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (29-8) 4-2 on Tuesday night at Camden Yards.

The game started well for the Rays, when Wander Franco hit a solo homer in the first to give Tampa Bay an early 1-0 lead. Baltimore answered with a three-run third inning, led by Adley Rutschman's two-run homer that gave the Os a 3-1 lead.

After the Orioles added a run in the fourth with a RBI single from Austin Hays, Taylor Walls answered with a homer in the top of the fifth to pull the Rays within 4-2. That would be as close as the Rays would get.

Zach Eflin (4-1, 2.91) allowed four earned runs on seven hits while striking out four and walking one in six innings of work. Chase Anderson worked the final shutout innings for the Rays out of the bullpen.

The Rays will now try and win the series when they play the Orioles in the finale on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 6:35 PM - Ronnie & T-Kras begin pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
