Rays Open Road Trip With Shutout Of Orioles

The first game of a long road trip for the Rays began with a win, as Tampa Bay defeated the Orioles 3-0 on Monday night in Baltimore.

Shane McClanahan (7-0, 1.76) pitched six shutout innings to pick up the win, allowing just four hits while striking out seven and walking four. Jason Adam struck out the side in the ninth inning for his fourth save of the season.

Josh Lowe homered in the second to give the Rays an early 1-0 lead. That would be all the offense in this game until the seventh inning, when Wander Franco flew out into a sacrifice double play that allowed Luke Raley to score. Raley added a big insurance run with a solo home run in the eighth inning that made the game 3-0, which would prove to be the final score.

The Rays and Orioles now meet in the second game of their three game series on Tuesday night. Zach Eflin is expected to start for the Rays, and face Orioles starter Grayson Rodriguez. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM on Tuesday evening - Ronnie & T-Kras begin pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
