Rays Beat White Sox For Second Straight Night

The Tampa Bay Rays (22-5) defeated the Chicago White Sox (7-20) 3-2 on Friday night in Chicago.

After the Rays took a lead in the top of the first, the White Sox answered with a blast from Andrew Vaughn to tie the game 1-1. Jake Burger followed with a homer in the bottom of the second to give Chicago a 2-1 lead.

Manuel Margot tied the game 2-2 in the fourth, which would be the score until the ninth inning Isaac Paredes hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth to make it 3-2, which would prove to be the final score.

Zach Efflin got the start for the Rays, allowing two earned runs on six hits in five innings of work while striking out five and walking two. Colin Poche (2-0, 0.96) earned the victory out of the bullpen while Kevin Kelley got the final out in the ninth inning to earn his first major league save.

The Rays will now look to win the four game series when they meet the White Sox on Saturday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM - Neil Solondz begins pregame coverage at 6:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
