The Tampa Bay Rays (8-0) shut out the Oakland As (2-6) to start the season. The Rays are now a perfect 8-0 start and clinched a win in their third consecutive series to start the season.
Jeffrey Springs (2-0, 0.00) pitched seven shutout innings in which he allowed just three hits while striking out seven and walking three.
The Rays got home runs from Manuel Margot, Brandon Lowe and Randy Arozarena to set the pace en route to the 11-0 win.
