Rays Complete Sweep Of Nationals

The Tampa Bay Rays (6-0) defeated the Washington Nationals (1-5) 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon in Washington, DC. The Rays remained perfect on the season and are 6-0 for the first time in franchise history.

Shane McClanahan (2-0, 1.50) was effective in six innings of work, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out six and walking four.

Wander Franco hit a two-run homer in the third inning that gave the Rays a 3-1 lead, and Harold Ramirez hit a homer as part of a three-run sixth that gave the Rays some seperation. Seven different Rays had hits, while five different guys had RBIs en route to the 7-2 victory.

The Rays are now off on Thursday before beginning a three-game weekend series against the As on Friday night. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie & T-Kras hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
