The Tampa Bay Rays (4-0) defeated the Washington Nationals (1-3) 6-2 on Monday evening in Washington, DC. The victory gives the Rays their first 4-0 start in franchise history.
Drew Rasmussen (1-0, 0.00) pitched six shutout innings in which he allowed just two hits. He struck out seven and walked none in his outing.
Luke Raley hit two homers, one in the first and one in the eighth, to set the offensive pace. Isaac Paredes also homered for the Rays.
The Rays now look to win the series against the Nationals on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM - Ronnie Lane begins pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
