The Baltimore Orioles (49-48) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (52-45) 5-3 on Tuesday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
After the Rays fell behind 1-0 in the first, Randy Arozarena's RBI single (in which he was thrown out trying to advance to second) in the third inning tied the game 1-1.
The Rays then took the lead in the fourth thanks to a solo homer from Isaac Paredes and Roman Quinn hitting a RBI double that made it 3-1.
Anthony Santander hit a solo homer in the fourth to pull the Rays within 3-2, before the O's got to Colin Poche and the Rays bullpen in the eighth. Ramon Urias's two-run home run gave the Orioles a 4-3 lead, before Trey Mancini gave Baltimore insurance with a sacrifice fly that made it 5-3.
Poche (1-2, 3.09) took the loss, allowing three earned runs on three hits while only getting one out. Shane McClanahan threw a gem to start the game, needing only 81 pitches to get through seven innings in which he allowed two earned runs on two hits while striking out seven and walking one.
The Rays will once again look to snap their skid when they meet the Orioles in the third game of the three game series on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher hosting the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
