Rays Fall To Orioles in Series Opener in Baltimore

The Tampa Bay Rays (52-44) fell to the Baltimore Orioles (48-48) 5-1 on Monday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore. It was Tampa Bay's third consecutive loss.

Brandon Lowe hit his first home run since returning from the IL - and his sixth of the season in the third inning to tie the game 1-1. Unfortunately that would be the extent of the Rays offensive output. Baltimore used a four-run fifth inning to take a 5-1 lead that would prove to be the final score.

Corey Kluber (6-6, 3.91) took the loss for Tampa Bay, allowing five runs (four of them earned) on seven hits in five innings which saw him strike out two and walk one.

The Rays look to snap their skid in the second game of the four game series against the Orioles on Tuesday night. First pitch from Camden Yards is scheduled for 7:05 PM on Tuesday - Jay Recher begins pregame coverage with the Inside PItch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
