The Tampa Bay Rays (36-29) defeated the Baltimore Orioles (29-38) 7-6 on Saturday afternoon at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
After falling behind 2-0, the Rays put up a four-spot in the third to take the lead back. They added some key insurance in the fifth when Ji-Man Choi hit a two-run blast to make it 6-2 Tampa Bay.
The Orioles answered with three in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie the game 6-6. The Rays got the lead back for good in the top of the ninth inning when Harold Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly to give the Rays a 7-6 margin that would prove to be the final score.
Calvin Faucher (1-1, 11.37) got the win after pitching a perfect eighth inning. Colin Poche earned his fourth save after working a perfect ninth inning to secure the win.
The Rays will now look to win the series against the Orioles on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 PM - pregame coverage begins with Neil Solondz hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at 12:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
