The New York Yankees (47-16) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (35-28) 2-1 on Thursday night. The win gives New York a sweep in the three game series over Tampa Bay.
All tied 1-1 going into the ninth inning, Anthony Rizzo hit a solo homer to send the Yankees to a 2-1 win.
